Ork Kommissar

Ork Kommissar from Kromlech miniatures. What a dude. A lot of character in a very simple figure so it was hard to resist buying another orc/k 🙄. I went for a desert colour theme (imagine it's a cold desert....) and was pretty pleased with the coat colour which was exactly what I planned. Some of the rest was a bit time-consuming to paint despite the simplicity as I got carried away with blends etc.

Warmachine Mercenary Dwarf Dude

I don't actually know what this guy is, but he's definitely a Warmachine figure for Privateer Press, definitely a Dwarf, and since the main factions aren't Dwarfs, I presume he's a Mercenary.

This is the last figure I had purchased and made up during the first Covid Blanket Lockdown Irrespective Of Transmission Risk, and he'd been a bit sidelined while I got distracted with Orcs and stuff. Eventually I thought "why not blue, as I don't paint much pure blue", and this is the result. Despite the bulk being blue, the more challenging bits were the white (despite starting with a very pale bone, I still found myself needing a "lighter than white" colour to highlight up...) and the gold (which took me a few hours to do paint by itself).

Space Marine Chapter Master

Space Marines are Games Workshop's most iconic and definitive models / race, well representing mankind's fascistic state, ruled over by an ancient power-hungry leader, ruthlessly promoting hatred, intolerance and xenophobia with a quasi-religious fervour.

I'm not the biggest fan of them but I've always liked this one, from back when GW designs were still vaguely tasteful and elegant. I had this amazing idea that I'd paint the robes and bronze details first, so I wouldn't get loads of overspill and washes etc etc onto the armour. This meant that I then had the nightmare task of having to paint a clean smooth coat of armour underneath and in between all the details without getting overspill on them instead, what a choad 🙄🙄🙄
